Friday

Today was the coldest day yet. Somewhere in the low 40's and of course it rained. And of course just as we were leaving rehearsal from the church in Canterbury it started to downpour. Barry and some of the other chaps got most of the day off. I stayed with the boys as I was working with another chap on getting pictures and video ready for upload.

The boys went to the Melbourne Cricket Club. Barry will have to tell you all about it as I headed directly to Dallas Brooks Hall to scout out the dressing rooms for the boys.

Last night was the boys big concert. It was the first time Barry and I saw them in full dress doing their thing. They were outstanding. I video taped their entire performance and am going to be making a DVD for each of the boys when we return. Of course I will be very happy to share the video with anyone who would like to see it.

We are off to Perth this morning. Melbourne to Perth is like going Philly to LA. We are told it is a bit warmer. The boys will be performing at the Australian Music Educators Conference and we will all be home stayed.

I cannot begin to tell you how warm and friendly the Aussies are. Everyone stops and asks you about the choir and are more than helpful when you are looking a bit lost.

Time for breakfast now. I am hoping to get at least a free wireless connection or use our hosts computer to upload a few of our pictures. Very exciting pictures they are. Barry standing at the train station in the dark waiting for the boys to come in from their homestays. The boys scattered about the train car singing. You can only see the boys and not the singing. A picture of Rialto tower and magnificent modern skyscraper.

Most of this week has been about rehearsing and only a bit of sightseeing. Because of course this is all about the tour and the concerts. We will be in Fremantle over the weekend. This is where the Americas Cup is run and I am told it is quite a charming place.

I have not bought one souvenir yet, but Barry got to shop Queen Victoria Market yesterday and bought a few things. I would have liked to have done the market. It is an old open air market. My favorite place to haunt on a trip.

Time is running on my Internet connection here in the hostel so farewell for now.
