Thursday. Yesterday was all day rehearsal. We took the train back to Canterbury and practiced at the church and then moved the group back to the trains to one stop down and slowly snaked through the town (all 97 of us) up the hill and through the park to the Canterbury College for Girls. That was about a 2 mile walk from the train.
There the boys rehearsed with the AYC girls for tonight's big performance at the Dallas Brooks Hall in Melbourne. The kids had to time to let off some steam around lunch time. The girls were huddled around as many boys as they could. They played basketball, ultimate frisbee and just hung out together. The girls got quite a kick out of touching some of the hair of the African American boys. I got it all on tape and will be editing it today.
The day was quite rainy and just as we were heading back to the train for the 2 mi walk the rain came pouring down. Don't ask. You just keep walking.
Again in the Melbourne train station the boys seranaded the crowd, sang happy birthday to one of the boys and then sang again to someone in the train station who was also celebrating their birthday.
I have not had time to upload pictures but rather have been working on the KSB Blog. So head to http://www.paboychoir.org/ and click on tour blog to read the postings - go to next page and the pictures will show up. There should be some video posted tomorrow by yours truly so you can check that as well.
6:30 am and time for breakfast and off to pick up the boys at the train station and back to Canterbury for morning rehearsal.
